Personal brand: Week 05, 2021

I guess I'll need to develop the marketing skill like I developed the coding one in last five years πŸ™‚ Daily investment for years.

The whole process if frustrating at the moment, but once I get to the level of proficiency I have with coding, marketing will become fun πŸ€“

So let's keep pushing through the pain.

Monday

My Tweets are all over the place and don't follow a niche.

People I follow and interact with on Twitter are either from:

  • lifestyle, the personal development world,
  • the software world.

So like with the blog, I created a second Twitter account to segment my audience:

  • @ziga_brencic for Life Experiment.
  • @physicist_ziga for Minimalistic Software.

Both accounts will be about a single niche only. I also segmented the people I follow:

tech people one account, lifestyle, business, marketing on the other account.

Why two accounts? First, I'm interested in software, technology and personal development.

Sure, there's a group of people interested in both if they are welcome to follow my online versions.

The funny thing is that in real life, I'm part of the geek community and the "normal" community and people from both communities don't know each other. But I'm sitting in both πŸ˜‚

There's another benefit. I'm exposed to two completely different audiences. One is saying:

Growth hacking is dead.

The other is saying:

Growth hacking is the number one strategy for 2021.

Guess which audience made which statement (tip: there are not many marketers in the tech world πŸ˜‰ ).

As a result of the segmentation, I'm starting to see the whole personal brand picture more clearly. I am beginning to naturally sense the next moves to build a specific nicheβ€”all the result of excellent segmentation.

It's super easy to add/manage multiple accounts through Twitter clients. So no issue here.

If I write what I did on marketing, life experimentation front every day to my journal, then writing the newsletter and marketing report weekly becomes a super easy task.

Tuesday

Submitted the final papers for company opening.

The mail box is set:

Shit's about to get real.

"Unique and cool studio allows you to generate a lot of unique content."

There's so much information on how to use social media out there; it's crazy. You just have to double down, study what to do and apply the lessons.

It's like with any skill development, hard work yields results.

Use Tweetdeck to have a bird's eye view over multiple Twitter profiles:

the tool was bought by Twitter and is now free. Pretty cool, but I still need to see how I can leverage it.

Wednesday

I joined a meetup where we chatted about Digital Gardens of Expertise.

Joining the meetup was my first significant step towards meeting new random people on a regular basis.

Thursday

It's official: Life Experiment is now a company.

It's so wired to be signing papers on which it says, director πŸ™‚

Friday

I hired a sketch artist to create the illustration for my tech Twitter profile. We'll see how this goes.

Bought a guide about Twitter strategies for 20$ Make it stick - Twitter guide .

Lesson 1:

If you want to be serious about Twitter: go for 100 replies a day

😳

Twitter is apparently a hobby πŸ˜… At least if you want to be good at it? We'll see.

Saturday

I'm starting to rip the benefits from some of the custom marketing tools I wrote:

The cm stands for content manager a tool I use to create and manage marketing campaigns.

Little clarification. There are two major options for how you can sell online:

  • 1.) Create a product to find an audience.
  • 2.) Find an audience then create the product for it.

Tried 1.). Failed. Trying number two at the moment.

Option one is great if you have a specific idea in mind and need to make quick bucks. Option two is excellent if you're building a personal brand/marketing vehicle for life. I think πŸ€”

Sunday

I'm slowly gaining Twitter followers. So apparently I'm doing something right. I'm engaging in the communities. If I ramp up the rate of mingling with fellow creators, this could work out 😎
