🔬 Life Experiment 8, 2021

Hey There.

If the place has a spot in the sun where I can read I'm sold.

  • ✅ Book
  • ✅ Tea
  • ✅ Journal
  • ✅ Sun

What else do you need for a perfect start of the day?

I'm fortunate. At the moment I have pretty much everything that I want.

  • Place to stay for almost no $ with nature in front of my nose.
  • Full-time job that's engaging. I could study equations (at least part-time) forever.
  • Have a company that is turning into a freedom business.
  • Have a pretty strong and broad social circle.

So what I don't get is why I feel so down now and then?

This emptiness feeling is popping up every other day. Not for long. For an hour tops.

It's in those hours that I journal the most to capture all the grumpiness. Afterwards, I'm fine, but it's just that occasional feeling that's super weird.

Do you ever experience that? If yes, how do you deal with it?

🔬 Weekly experiment 7, 2021

Few observations and reflections of the week:

  • Sometimes I wish I could snap my fingers and stuff would just happen. Especially bureaucracy. God, I hate that stuff.
  • It's funny how much self-pressure we are capable of producing. I worked a lot in the past days. Could I have done more? Sure ... Should I? Probably not.
  • Had to make a day trip to the capital to pick the mail for my company and run a few errands. It was exhausting. I used to make trips like that daily. This corona situation destroyed my endurance. Completely.
  • Two-floor apartment. Stairs 50+ times a day. Positive for the health benefits 🙂
  • I love all this wood around me. It gives the place a feel of a mountain cabin.
  • I'm still quite stressed due to all unsorted mess on the PC.
  • Watched movies again to escape the go, go, go tempo for a few days. Still battling with switching to something else as a rest process. But at least I'm not feeling guilty about doing watching Netflix anymore.
  • My elbow on the left arm hurts a bit. I hope it's not due to typing. If it is. That won't be fun ... It's not an experiment that I'm willing to try out.
  • Finally took advantage of the new location and went for a walk in the cold, quiet nature, followed by a nice long nap.
  • Back to using morning pages (write 3 A4 pages right after you wake up). The official web site the video is worth watching 😉 It's not an action movie trailer, but the lady has a point.
  • If I nap late, I need to prepare black tea in advance. So once I wake up its worm enough, and I can drink it right away. If I start prepping tea at 17:00, I don't drink it till 18:30 and then surprise, surprise I have trouble sleeping.
  • It's 23:00 and newsletter is finished 🙂 That's a win.

That's it on my side. What happened on yours? Or did you forget to observe and experiment?

Reading material

New reading material arrived (pile of books). Book Depository has a new set of bookmarks:

They are for all the people with the New Year's resolutions.

Yet I'm still in no mood for reading. Maybe 30 min tops per day. I think it's because I have so many open ideas out there that I'm afraid that if I read, I'll have even more, which is funny. After all, I used to read to get ideas. Now I have too many.

I started working on a comprehensive guide about the Digital Brain and thinking through writing.

A short term plan is to write a guide: How to think through writing?

This technique is nothing new. Philosophers relied on thinking through writing for millennia. But I haven't seen a good guide for the modern world for the ordinary people that I would read. So I'll write one 🙂

If I sell five copies, I'll consider it a success.

(The copy that my mum purchases doesn't count. They buy everything their kids produce.)

Then once that is done. I'll move to the Digital Brain guide. This one is trickier because it's more complex than the writing guide. The main idea is to write up the knowledge management process that I use and teach you how to build your own. Let me know if you're interested in either of the guides.

Few notes on my personal brand building:

I finally managed to catch up.

My focus is still diffused too much. I have too many open things. It's not that I have to work on them actively, but they are open, ... Apparently, I can't work on so many things at once, yet I don't want to accept my limitations.

Why? Ego? Maybe. Time to find out.

Maybe I'll start another weekly reflection report called: Focus.

This newsletter and the marketing report are starting to serve as a weekly reflection process. Why not create another one?

Don't forget to experiment and cheers till the next experiment.
