🔬 Life Experiment 20, 2021

Hey There.

In case you are low on sugar here's a sweet view of one of the most famous Slovenia lakes lake Bled:

Make sure to take a dose of insulin if you stare at the picture for too long.

Alright, let's make this one short, so I go to sleep before midnight.

🔬 Weekly experiment 19, 2021

The more you write. The more you can write. The more you want to write.

This is so wired. The better we get at something, the more we start to enjoy it. So to enjoy my writing even more, I decided a month ago to join the Foster community of writers. Here's the communities manifesto if you are interested in more.

Recently they managed to raise quite some money to build the develop collaborative editing tools. So this should be fun.

Most of the community members are writers, editors, copywriters, ghostwriters, professors, ... So yeah, I'm not sure how I ended up there. Definitely amongst the biggest noobs there, but I learn a lot just by hanging around. You know, learning by osmosis. Hope this works because the book under the pillow approach does not.

Community is paid and has a highly rigorous process to get it. Yes, you have to do a 15-minute interview, and they give you an offer to join. (Felt like a job interview.) But as a result, the quality of writing and advice shared is insane. I wish more online communities had a rigorous filter to take in only the most enthusiastic ones.

So yesterday, we had a co-working session on writing for 8h. Basically, you connect via Zoom, write for an hour and a half, review, work your work with other writers, and then do the next block after a short break. Despite not being a fan of co-working groups, I quite liked it. As a result, I have two long-form pieces that will probably hit the newsletter next week. They are still getting reviewed.

So if you hate writing. Get better at it. It might take a while, but it's worth it.

How creators experiment?

This week we have Q & A with Indy as a coach and a former engineer. Indy has it pretty well figured out. I personally know that I need to take a page from his book and get my sleep in order (yeah, yeah, I know it's an overgoing struggle).

Sneak peek to get you to read the interview:

Me: What, in your opinion, crashes our habits the most?
Indy: Life.

Read the interview for more. The links below are less critical but still better than Netflix. But read the interview with Indy first.

Stuff that's better than YouTube or whatever else you consume.

We've got a few essays, threads, and conversations on Thinking Through Writing (TTW):

Oh, and a Racket (new social media platform for short podcasts) with Reddy2go 05-08 Science is grown-ups playing in a fancy kindergarten they call labs . Let me know if anyone wants an invite. They are still in beta mode.

Don't forget to experiment and cheers till the next experiment.
