Got a ricksha for 150 INR pretty quickly near the main rode. [12:58] Stepped out to the street and got another ricksha to Madras high court in a minute for 200 INR for 20-min drive.[13:04] And we are on a gas station. Our driver paid 400 INR to fill the tank. Flight is at 17:45.[13:55] Trying to check in and loosing my shit. They noticed so the lobby boss told me: "Go to the business centre sir, on computer it will be easier." He was right.[14:00] Ok. At the business centre behind PC with Windows 🙁[14:16] Managed to check us in. Damn did we overpay because we arrived in the middle of the night for the taxi. 1500 INR vs 80 ...[14:35] OK each train station has a security check. Train is here. Paying with NLB card in rupees is the cheapest option. And yes we got two ricksha and train for a price of one bottle of sparkling water at the hotel. Also the Kochi hotel confirmed our stay for 3 nights with bathroom. No ac though. Let's see. But I do think we’re getting the hang of it. The India thingy I mean. But yeah it’s dirty and loud (Not the metro though.) as people said, but so much stuff is happening 🤯. [14:56] At airport.[15:08] Pre-departure security check of passports. But they are pretty effective and fast, it feels like that whole India is one giant prototyping experiment, and they are iterating super-fast.[15:37] Through security, I take it back. Threw 300 INR away. Waiter actually understood us black coffee, ...[16:55] At the gate. Smart water from wending machine is 60 INR but at the vendor stand next to its 120 INR. Jerca got 0,5L of water inside the airport for 40 INR.[19:20] Found the driver from the Green Woods Bethlehem hotel. Go 3l of water for 60 INR 🤦 Should have looked more closely through the airport window at the shop across the street.[19:25] Off we go. It will take 1:20 for 2000 rupees plus 100 INR for parking. Car is brand new, but it looks like the ones we had in Slovenia 15 years ago. Not a critic, just a different world. [20:14] At Lulu market. One of the largest stores in India.[20:20] Saw an ambulance going in opposite direction on the road due to heavy traffic. "Yes, yes this is normal here." 👀 [20:50] Hosts son dropped us off. I messed up that he's a driver.[21:02] They showed us around the place. It’s pretty mystical and nice amidst all this chaos. They gave us a lot of tips what to do and where in Kochi and Fort Kochi.[21:40] At the room. Unpacking and dinner. What we still had with us since there really wasn't any time to get food today:Yup this is the shower 😅 You pour the hot water to the big bucket, the add cold water and then use the green one to shower. And the water just flows out through a hole in the wall behind the toilet. Luckily we had flip-flops. [22:10] Checking the rest of itinerary for this trip.[23:00] Resolving an internal fight. But we're good now. India is testing us.[23:40] Shower time.[00:30] Trying to sleep. Without too much success. There were no sheets and only one blanket and AC was on full capacity so it felt like we were in the fridge. If you turned AC off it was humid as hell in about an hour. Luckily we had the sleeping cocoons with us. Oh and we later realised that there were no windows in the room but just a sort of mesh behind the curtains. No shit it became hot so fast.
