Weekly experiment 49, 2019

Hey There.

This week was pretty turbulent for me. On Thursday, I submitted my final master thesis draft after 3,5 years of work. It feels wired to wake up without the weight on my shoulders. There's still the defence coming up, but the submission was a significant milestone for me.

Without anything to do, I launched a new version of my web site. Visually page looks the same, but it has a whole new shiny engine underneath. There will be considerable changes in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned. New page forms the bedrock for the code mentoring idea I'm launching this week. Time will tell if the idea becomes a business. 😎

What was the outcome of your last experiment?

I published an article in an online Medium publication and got one view πŸ™ˆ. Partial success. My other experiment? I somehow managed to watch only three episodes of Young Sheldon. Win here.

In the upcoming week, I'll try to lend my first client and try standing on one leg for 5 minutes each morning, to get my balance back.

You know the drill. Let me know what you'll try. πŸ˜‰

What's weekly experiment?

From weekly writing

Two highlights:

Two weeks ago, I started posting my technical articles on the dev.to platform, and the results are excellent. In just two weeks, seven articles got 1800 views, and I obtained 800 followers. That's progress.

For comparison, on Medium, I got 100 views for 25 articles and five followers in one month. After a month of regular writing, I realised the importance of the targeted well-crafted message. So in the future, I won't be spamming this email list with technical articles anymore. Technical writing will be getting a separate dedicated newsletter.

Found a typo, have a comment or an idea for improvement shoot me a message. πŸ˜‰

Till the next weekly experiment,

Ziga
